Mr. Will F. Daniel is a pioneer in the Philadelphia cable
industry. He began his company in May of 1977 with
$4000.00, a vocational education, and a good head for business.
Now, the owner of a multi-million dollar family owned and
operated business, Mr. Daniel is the President and Founder
of one of the nation's few remaining African-American-owned
cable and telecommunications companies.
Prior to starting Wilco, Will served nineteen years with
Marco Video Systems, Inc., representing Jerrold Electronics
in Eastern Pennsylvania.
His responsibilities involved supervising the installation
of Master Antenna Systems, Intercom Systems and Closed Circuit
Television Systems in large apartment buildings, hotels
and schools.
In 1990, Wilco Electronic Systems, Inc. was granted a franchise
by Home Box Office, the first franchise awarded to a minority
owned firm in the Eastern United States. Mr. Daniel
negotiated an affiliation agreement with Rollins Cablevision
of Philadelphia. He then became a 5% owner of the
Rollins system and was appointed Vice-President in charge
of installations and service.
Mr. Daniel continued to expand Wilco by creating Wilco Services
which provides cable installation services and Wilco Security
which provides high technology security systems. The various
Wilco enterprises provide a variety of installation and
maintenance services to commercial organizations, individuals
and government entities throughout the Delaware Valley.
Mr. Daniel is involved in numerous community and civic organizations.
Over a 20-year period he has served as a Board of Director
for a myriad array of organizations including the Bridge
Program and Red Cross. He currently serves on the Board
of the Philadelphia Theatre Company and has been an avid
supporter and patron of the Theater Company for over 10
years.
Ms. Daniel
is the Executive Vice President of Wilco Electronics
Systems, Inc. (Wilco). Wilco is one of the last
remaining African-American owned cable operators in the
Nation and has provided quality cable services,
telecommunication services, and security systems
throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley
area for the last 31 years.
As Executive Vice President of Wilco, Ms. Daniel
takes on a
broad portfolio of responsibilities, including corporate
communications, government affairs, regulatory affairs,
public affairs, and corporate administration. She
additionally provides overall leadership and strategic
vision impacting the growth and future of the company
and serves as senior counselor to the President, Will F.
Daniel. One of Ms. Daniel's current focuses with the
company is overseeing the launch and implementation of
the new WILCO Philadelphia Housing Authority community
and entertainment channel, WPHA-TV and the online
channel located at
www.wphatv.com.
Prior to
joining Wilco, Ms. Daniel served as an Officer with the
City of Philadelphia's Minority Business Enterprise
Council (MBEC), served as the Director of Business
Development and Governmental Affairs for the Academy of
Screen Arts, a film school that opened in Ghana, West
Africa, in 2002, and worked with Black Entertainment
Television, Inc., the Federal Communications Commission,
and Wilkinson Barker Knauer as a law clerk, legal
intern, and summer associate respectively.
Ms. Daniel
graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spelman
College in1999 with degrees in History, Women's Studies,
and Business Management. Ms. Daniel received her JurisDoctorate
from Georgetown University Law School in 2002 and was
admitted to the Bar of Pennsylvania in 2004. She
currently serves as the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the
Philadelphia Theatre Company's new Young Friends
Executive Committee and also serves as a Board Director
of the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC)
and is on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia
People's Emergency Center (PEC).
Paul Eidenshink brings to the management team an extensive
background in engineering related to telecommunications
design.
Mr. Eidenshink started with the company at the age of 19
and has been Wilco’s Engineering Specialist for the
last 29 years. He has designed and supervised construction
of state-of-the-art Fiber and Coax Systems including major
rebuilding of Wilco’s fiber optic plant for Multiple
Dwelling Units all throughout the City of Philadelphia and
the Philadelphia Housing Authority communities.
Throughout the history of employment with Wilco, Mr. Eidenshink's
responsibilities have included management of the network
upgrades that have stretched across Wilco's subscriber footprint
and the installation and maintenance of microwave transmitter
paths between apartment complexes . After assuming
the responsibility for cable and design installation, Mr.
Eidenshink also played a key role in developing and building
Wilco's security system division. Today Mr.
Eidenshink has full oversight of all design and installation
of Wilco's high end security alarm and remote surveillance
systems. Under Mr. Eidenshink's leadership, Wilco
currently provides design and installation of security card
access systems and Entraguard Entry systems for residential
and commercial properties.
Perry Daniel started his career as a
Software Test Engineer for MCI Communications in 1988
after completing a BS Degree from North Carolina A&T
State University. Perry was responsible for the
integration and verification of VAX and IBM Mainframe
based software product being implemented into MCI
Telecommunications Network. During his tenure at MCI he
was promoted to Senior Software Test Engineer,
Automation Engineer, and Manager. As Manager, he was
responsible running a team of Engineers that perform
real time data network provisioning for Hyperstream
Frame Relay, ATM and IP services. Prior to leaving MCI
in 1999 to pursue additional challenges Mr. Daniel
obtained an MBA from Averett College in 1998.
After leaving
MCI, Perry accepted a position as Senior Manager for
Quality Communications in July 1999. He was responsible
for running a profit center implementing the FTS 2001
contract between Quality Communications and MCI Worldcom.
He was also responsible for analyzing profit/loss
statements as well s creating and maintaining the
department’s budget. Also, while in this position Perry
was able to hire staff, design a pay rate scale,
purchase vehicles, implement internal Standard Operating
Procedures and build business partnerships between
Quality and MCI. Mr. Daniel generated revenue for
Quality Communications from 128K to over 1.2 million
dollars within a 9 month period prior to leaving.
Perry joined
Wilco Electronic Systems, Inc. in May of 2000, as Vice
President of Finance. He is responsible for the
Financials, General Operation, and Information
Technology of Wilco. His duties include overseeing
Sales, Collections, Customer Service, and Wilco’s
Corporate Data Network including all Computers within
the infrastructure. In addition, he is currently
responsible for all Network Configurations for the
Security Camera Division of Wilco. This includes design,
installation, implementation, configuration, testing and
training of all of Wilco’s Advance Security Products and
Services. Mr. Daniel’s extensive Engineering and
Business back ground enables him to be a key technical
leader in the security, cable, and telecommunication
industries.
Darryl
Daniel brings to the Wilco Management team a strong and
dedicated foundation in both Operations and Field Technician
Management.
Darryl Daniel started at Wilco in 1987 building and developing
the company's data entry and subscriber accounting systems.
After studying and working with all aspects of the business,
including collections, billing, and field operations, Mr.
Daniel quickly was elevated to the post of Director of Operations
and became responsible for the implementation and monitoring
of Wilco operating policies and procedures. Most recently
he has taken on the additional responsibility of developing
and deploying Wilco service and field technicians.
In addition, Mr. Daniel leads the Wilco team in the operation
and training of employees on Wilco's cable data subscriber
system, Wincable.
Prior to joining Wilco, Mr. Daniel served in the U.S. Air
Force from 1982-1987.
Mr.
Wellener has over 30 years of hands on managerial experience
in all aspects of cable television and cable systems operations.
Utilizing his extensive background in operations, Mr. Wellener
oversees all construction related duties including design,
the scheduling and supervising of in-house construction
work, and acting as liaison between Comcast and Wilco on
construction and programming matters. In addition,
Mr. Wellener works with all field personnel and assists
the dispatcher with scheduling, service issues, and customer
service support.
Prior to joining Wilco, Mr. Wellener worked at POPVISION
Wireless Cable TV for 18 years. In the 1990's, POPVISION
was the fourth largest private cable operator and Multi
Point Multi channel Distribution System (MMDS) operator
serving over 60,000 + subscribers nationally. While at POPVISION,
Mr. Wellener served as Manager of Technical Services, Manager
of Construction, Manager of Field Service, and MDU Accounts
Manager.
Jane
Powell brings a strong foundation in collections management,
analysis, and negotiation to the Wilco Management Team.
Ms. Powell began as a receptionist for Wilco Electronic
Systems, Inc. in 1992. Since then she has learned and worked
with many departments of Wilco's operations and began the
Wilco collections department in 1999. Today, her duties
include managing a team of collection account managers,
establishing strategies and collection goals to accomplish
monthly quotas for subscriber payments, educating collection
account mangers on negotiation techniques for Wilco market,
and implement payment plans to accommodate customers who
are in aging status. In addition, Ms. Powell personally
handles customer complaints, all billing issues, and evaluation
of customer history of payment for upgrades in service.
Prior to joining Wilco, Ms. Powell worked for Fleet Corp
as a Senior Collector for 5 years. While at Fleet
Ms. Powell collected past due monies owed to the Company.
She additionally negotiated with customers to implement
current status in customer accounts and performed data entry
for Fleet Collection database.
Ms. Powell graduated from Harris County High School in Hamilton
Georgia and additionally attended the Kerr Business College
in Lagrange Georgia.
